A general solution was obtained for the field radiated by a non-uniformly moving ramp dislocation with a general time-dependent ramp displacement function. Special cases were presented: including an arctan displacement with given constant or time-dependent width, a step-function displacement, and motion starting from rest before continuing non-uniformly. The solution was given in terms of quadratures which could be evaluated when the time-dependent functions were known. The special case of a ramp dislocation which started from rest before moving with a constant velocity was analyzed; with particular emphasis being placed on the wave-front and near-field behaviour.
