The effect of interactions with cascade damage upon clustering and point-defect behavior in the α-phase at 563K was simulated by using Monte Carlo methods. Cascade damage near to the existing cluster increased the recombination of point defects, but freely migrating defect formation was not strongly modified by overlapping. The growth and shrinkage of vacancy clusters depended upon the distance between cascades. Small interstitial clusters tended to grow via the interaction of nearby cascades. Clustering, recombination and the production of freely migrating defects were quantitatively estimated for two 10keV cascade interactions.
