The diffusion of H in the α-phase (solid solution), in the α´-phase (α-phase de-hydrided from the β-phase) and in the β-phase (hydride) was studied by using the desorption method. It was observed that the H diffusion coefficient in the β-phase was a little higher than that in the α-phase, and that both were much higher than that in the α´-phase. The difference between the diffusion coefficients in the 3 phases was attributed to differences in the H concentrations between the α-phase and the β-phase and to the differences in the trap densities of the α-phase and the α´-phase.
