By minimizing the thermodynamic potential, formulae were derived for the equilibrium length distributions of the dislocation segments and 1-dimensional clusters which formed from point defects in a dislocation core. The theoretical formulae were compared with the results of computer modelling. Plots of the number of clusters and the average and maximum lengths of clusters and dislocation segments were presented as functions of time.
