The effect of step-wise changes in bombardment temperature was studied. The bombardment was performed at 473K to 0.25dpa, and at 873K to 0.5dpa. In the case of pure V, and V-5%Cr alloy, the shrinkage of interstitial-type loops was marked during bombardment at 873K. The results were explained by the onset of vacancy-rich conditions during successive bombardments at 873K. In the case of V-5%Ti and V-4Cr-4%Ti alloys, the dissociation of vacancy loops led to the shrinkage of interstitial-type loops and the formation of Ti-enriched precipitates.
