Transfer mechanisms of deformation at γ/γ twin interfaces in polysynthetically twinned alloy were studied by means of in situ straining, at room temperature, in a transmission electron microscope. Crossing of the interface by ordinary dislocations occurred via cross-slip if they were of screw character when lying in the interface plane. If they were not of screw character when lying in the interface plane, these ordinary dislocations were locked at the interface and no emission of dislocations was observed in the neighbouring lamella. In the case of incident twinning dislocations, twins and ordinary dislocations were emitted in the mirror plane of the neighbouring lamella.
