The intersections of twins in the deformed alloy were studied. The occurrence of a type-I or type-II intersection appeared to be related to the type of twinning dislocation which was activated. If a Shockley partial with a Burgers vector, γD, was activated in the matrix, a type-I twin intersection often appeared. In other cases, the type-II intersection appeared. The overall I/II twin ratio was 1:2. Straight penetration was observed in the case of the type-II twin intersection. This form of intersection could be brought about by shear plus re-shuffling.
