In connection with an investigation of off-center ions, coefficients for the diffusion of Li+ in single crystals were determined. The experiments were performed by sealing the crystal in an ampoule, together with LiCl. Large (1mm) sections were analyzed by means of flame emission photometry. The diffusivity at 700C was 1.5 x 10-7cm2/s, and the overall results for temperatures of 500 to 730C could be described by:

D (cm2/s) = 20 exp[-1.53(eV)/kT]
