An investigation was made of the time-dependence of the conductivity of this oxide-ion conductor. The temporal evolution of the conductivity was related to the transition from a metastable state to a steady state of thermodynamic equilibrium. A decay in the conductivity could be described by a combination of 2 functions. One was a stretched exponential function which was attributed to the ordering of O vacancies. The other was a simple exponential function which was attributed to oxidation.
