A cleaved [100]-type crystal, and Tl metal, were placed in a glass tube and were heated to various temperatures for 4h. The incorporation of Tl atoms created luminescence centers in the host crystal. The Tl concentration profiles were determined using luminescence measurements. From these, the activation energy for Tl diffusion at 573 to 723K was deduced to be 0.32eV.
