The O mobility in the layered cuprates, La2-xSrxCuO4, was studied by using dynamic thermal isotope exchange methods and coulometric titration. Depending upon the temperature, various preferential surface exchange reactions were observed. Theoretical modelling of the diffusion processes in La2CuO4 and LaSrCuO3.5 was carried out by using molecular dynamics simulations.
