Two types of stair-rod dislocation which formed at the junctions of {111} stacking faults, in SrTiO3-SrRuO3 2-layer films on LaAlO3 substrates, were studied by means of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. One type, which was formed by the interaction of 2 stacking faults that were situated at a flat SrRuO3/LaAlO3 interface with no step, had a Burgers vector of (a/3)<110>. The other type, which formed by the interaction of 2 stacking faults (with one starting from the SrRuO3/LaAlO3 interface area and involving an interface step) had a Burgers vector of (a/3)<120>.
