Interdiffusion at 500, 575 and 650C was studied in compacted powder blends. Rapid diffusion which was observed at the start of homogenization was attributed to surface diffusion, at the points of contact between RbCl and KCl particles, with an activation energy of 8kcal/mol. Volume diffusion later predominated, with an activation energy of 42kcal/mol.
