The La0.6Sr0.4Co0.8Fe0.2O3 was synthesized by using a citrate method, and the contributory factors to the formation of homogeneous fine powder having a pure perovskite-type structure were deduced. The resultant La0.6Sr0.4Co0.8Fe0.2O3 exhibited a superior sinterability, and mixed electronic–ionic conduction properties which were better than those for samples synthesized by using a traditional solid-state reaction method.
