The 18O/16O isotope exchange depth-profiling technique was applied to BIMEVOX.10 materials in order to determine their O exchange coefficients and bulk O tracer diffusion coefficients. These results were compared to the exchange current densities which were obtained from current–voltage curves and bulk conductivities; as deduced by impedance spectroscopy. The results confirmed that, in spite of a higher ionic conductivity than that of traditional oxide electrolytes, the O surface exchange coefficients were low.
