It was now well established that the plasticity of quasicrystals at high temperatures was governed largely by thermally activated dislocation glide. Discussion was made of the elementary process of the thermally activated dislocation motion overcoming a quasi-periodic Peierls potential, accompanied by a phason strain relaxation.
