It was noted that Soret coefficients were usually measured electrochemically by determining the concentrations at 2 points in a liquid column that was subjected to a temperature gradient. Here, the concentration differences were determined by means of absorption spectroscopy and Beer's law. The Soret coefficients were found for FeIII, CrIII and NiIII in molten LiCl-KCl eutectic (table 120).
