Curves which described the liberation of He from Cd polycrystals deformed by stretching in liquid 4He were analyzed. The peaks in the amount of He liberated from Cd at temperatures below and above the melting point were found to be of different types. The reasons for this difference were investigated, and the assumption concerning the existence of a chemical bond between He atoms and structural defects of the metals under investigation was considered.
