Monoclinic materials were obtained by reacting FeCl3 with LiCl. The Fe ions were found to be in a high-spin tetrahedral state. This compound was found to be a good ionic conductor; with an associated activation energy of 0.78eV at temperatures below 105C. A marked increase in the Li ion mobility occurred at this temperature.
