The application of in situ synchrotron radiation transmission topography to the study of grain boundary migration in bicrystals of an Fe–6at%Si alloy was described. The details on experimental arrangement of the high-temperature in situ observations of dynamic processes in material were given. The pertinence of this method was documented by comparison of the data on migration of {130} grain boundary measured this way and by optical method after heating and cooling cycles.
