Curves which described the liberation of He from Sn single crystals deformed by stretching in liquid 3He and 4He were analyzed. It was found that the stress-strain diagrams were in qualitative agreement with the concentrations of He in the samples. The peaks in the amount of He liberated from Sn at temperatures below and above the melting point were found to be of different types. The reasons for this difference were investigated, and the assumption concerning the existence of a chemical bond between He atoms and structural defects of the metals under investigation was considered.
