The diffusion of divalent Cd ions into single crystals was studied by using atomic absorption spectrophotometry to determine the Cd concentrations. The diffusivity of Cd2+, at temperatures ranging from 530 to 655C, could be described by:

D (cm2/s) = 3.9 x 10-3 exp[-0.26(eV)/kT]
