The chronopotentiometric method was used to study the reaction, UIV + e → UIII, in molten 50 or 38.2mol%AlCl3 mixtures. For temperatures ranging from 250 to 400C (table 156), the activation energy for diffusion in the 50mol%AlCl3 mixture was calculated to be 5.4kcal/mol, while that for the 38.2mol%AlCl3 mixture was 4.1kcal/mol.
