An experimental investigation was made of the physical characterization of a variety of compositions of the mixed system (CdI2)x–(Ag2O–PbO2)100-x where x was 25 to 70 in the solid state. Detailed electrical, thermal, structural, spectroscopic and ion transport studies had indicated the formation of Ag ion conducting superionic phases in several compositions of the ternary system.
