Diffusion was studied in an icosahedral quasicrystal. The diffusivities exhibited Arrhenius-like temperature dependences. The dependence of the diffusivities upon hydrostatic pressure was also studied. The signs and magnitudes of the activation volumes (around 0.7 of an atomic volume) strongly favoured a vacancy-type diffusion mechanism.
