Darken’s equations were formulated for a spherical geometry and were used to examine excess vacancy formation in a Cu¯Ni binary system. Numerical analysis was used to solve them to give the excess (above local thermodynamic equilibrium) vacancies. The results indicated a tendency to pore formation, due to the presence of supersaturated vacancies.Analysis of Cu-Ni Diffusion in a Spherical Geometry for Excess Vacancy Production.
