Determination of the activation energy for the rolling-texture transition in Cu¯5%Zn was reconsidered, and the results were compared with the results of recent atomic-scale modelling of cross-slip. It was concluded that the texture transition was governed by cross-slip, and possible mechanisms were proposed.
