The patterns of plastic flow localization in high-Mn γ-Fe face-centered cubic single crystals, oriented for twinning during stretching, were studied. Basic space-time features of strain localization in the stages of yield plateau, easy glide and linear hardening were established. The velocity of strain-localization sites during stretching was determined, and conditions under which plasticity autowaves appeared in the strained medium, were considered. It was demonstrated that the local strain distributions in the case of twinning were similar to those due to dislocation glide.
