The problem of phonon scattering by static strain fields due to biaxial wedge disclination dipoles of finite length and circular wedge disclination loops was studied in the framework of the deformation potential approach. The specific behaviour of the thermal conductivity, κ, was found for both defects. In particular, for wedge disclination dipoles, the crossover from T2 to T was predicted at low temperatures. For circular wedge disclination loops, κ(T) exhibited a minimum at some temperature T* in the low-

temperature range. Above T* κ ~ T2 (dislocation-like behaviour), while below T*, one finds κ ~ T-3.
