The electromigration and diffusion of H in Pd which had been quenched to liquid N temperatures were investigated. It was found that the results could not be described by a single flux of H which diffused in an electric field gradient. A theoretical model assumed the existence of 2 fluxes of H in the quenched metal. One involved migration via the interstitial mechanism, and the other involved migration via an interstitial-defect mechanism.
