A theoretical model was proposed which described the nucleation of misfit dislocations in the interfaces between films and plastically deformed substrates with disclinations. The ranges of the parameters (disclination strength, density of disclination ensemble, film thickness, degree of misfit) within which misfit dislocation nucleation was energetically favorable were found. It was shown that, for certain disclination strengths and ensemble
densities, the critical thickness of the film on a plastically deformed substrate with disclinations could exceed several-fold that on an undeformed defect-free substrate.
