The mechanism of dynamic polygonization of a crystal was investigated in the case where only a single slip system operated. The analysis was based upon the evolution equation of the density of geometrically necessary dislocations generated by crystal bending. The formation of vertical tilt walls of edge dislocations was treated as the synergetic process of geometrically necessary dislocation self-organization. The spacings between these walls, and the local crystal misorientations which was associated with them, were determined.
