The electrical properties were investigated by means of fuel-cell measurements. Excellent proton conduction was detected in the electrolytes. The proton conductivity was of the order of 0.01 to 0.1S/cm for temperatures above 600C. Proton conduction was found to dominate the fuel cell process, although there was always an influence arising from hydride ions which could trap proton transport.
