An equation was derived for the ionic conductivity of emulsion grains whose dimensions were comparable to the Debye length of intrinsic defects. The conductivities of the grains were inversely proportional to the grain size, and the surface potential distribution depended upon the shape and size of the grains. The surface charge density, surface potential and volume potential were estimated for octahedral, cubic and tabular AgBr grains.
