By using the parameterized d-orbital of the Cr3+ ion, the local structural parameters were calculated for 3 tetragonal Cr3+ centers. The results showed that both the axial Cr3+---Cl− (with a vacancy) and the Cr3+---H2O bonds were compressed. The axial Cr3+---Cl− and Cr3+---H2O bond lengths were estimated, from electron paramagnetic resonance data, for the 3 tetragonal centers.
