A correlation between Ag ionic conduction and the composition of various phases in the CuI–Ag2MoO4 system was explored in terms of possible solid-state reactions. Detailed X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, Fourier-transform infra-red and electrical transport studies (ionic transport number, conductivity) were carried out in order to identify the reaction products. The reaction products identified were found to determine the exact composition resulting from the completion of each solid-state reaction, and hence the behavior of the effective conduction.
