Experiments were used to characterize various compositions in the ternary system, (CuI)x–(Ag2O–PbO2)100−x, with x = 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 or 70mol%. The samples were analyzed by using X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infra-red spectroscopy, differential thermal analysis and Ag ionic transport number studies. The results revealed the formation of AgI and other phases in the various compositions. Transport number measurements, carried out using Wagner and emf methods, also indicated that Ag ions were the majority charge carriers.
