A new equation was proposed for calculating the hopping diffusion coefficient of a cation vacancy in mixed alkali-halide crystals having a common cation, such as KCl-KBr. It was based upon the concepts of probability theory, and gave good agreement with numerical calculations performed using the Monte Carlo method.
