The conductivity and Li+ diffusivity of the molten LiCl-LiI system were measured as a function of composition and temperature. The conductivity exhibited a very large negative deviation from the additive law. The Li+ diffusivity decreased with addition of LiCl to LiI. This indicated that the Li+ ions, which were the main charge carriers, were restricted by randomly mixed anions of different sizes.
