The diffusivities of Au and Ag ions were measured, by using the chronopotentiometric method, at 500 to 700C. It was found that, at 500 to 550C, the former values were higher than the latter. The results obeyed the Arrhenius relationship, and were explained in terms of translation and hopping diffusion mechanisms.
