Glasses of the form, AgI-Ag2O-(1-x)B2O3-xWO3, where x ranged from zero to unity, were studied by using X-ray diffraction, infra-red and impedance spectroscopic techniques. It was found that the replacement of glass-forming B2O3 by glass-forming WO3 led to an increase in conductivity; due to the mixed-former effect. The conductivity was of the order of 0.001S/cm at moderate temperatures (table 233).
