Mixed metal fluoride conductors which were prepared by mechanical milling were found to have higher conductivities than single fluorides. Results were presented for the compositions, xPbF2-(1-x)SnF2 and NH4F-2SnF2. The variation of conductivity with x-value, milling time and temperature was studied. The grain size and the strain factor were deduced from the line-width of various X-ray diffraction lines and were related to the conductivity and the milling time.
