By using this system, with up to 60mol%AgI, as an example a possible physical origin was proposed for the anti Meyer-Neldel rule. The Meyer-Neldel rule itself (compensation law) linked a higher activation energy to a higher pre-exponential factor. It was shown that, when certain conditions were satisfied, the Meyer-Neldel rule could arise from the cooperative dynamics of ionic motion. The anti Meyer-Neldel rule, which exhibited the opposite behavior, was not so well known.
