A numerical inverse analysis was developed in order to deduce compositional-dependent interdiffusion coefficients from a single diffusion couple in ternary systems. Application to various diffusion couples at 1100C in β-(Ni,Pt)Al showed that the direct interdiffusion coefficient, DAlAlNi, increased as the Pt content increased. A concentration gradient of Pt had no effect upon the diffusion of Al, and the corresponding coefficient, DAlPtNi, was zero. The cross-coefficient, DPtAlNi, was constant - and very small - except for a deep minimum at an Al content of 50at%.
