Point and linear defects, and their combinations, in nanoscale periodic porous graphite composed of graphite with nanoscale periodic pores, were analysed theoretically. The point and linear defects in semiconducting nanoscale periodic porous graphite caused energy modes in the band-gaps. Electrons satisfying these energy modes could exist only at point and linear defects, which indicated electron localization and guiding, respectively. Point defect modes were considered for point defects with various rotational symmetries, and linear defect modes were analysed for 2 kinds of linear defect. The conductance of linear defects and the combination of point and linear defects were also considered.
