The O in-diffusion, out-diffusion, and permeability of layered perovskite-type-like YBa2Cu3O7−x were investigated by thermogravimetry, O static adsorption, and O permeability experiment. The results showed that the O in-diffusion at higher O partial pressure was very faster, while the O out-diffusion at lower O partial pressure was relatively slow due to the formation of surface barrier. The O permeation rate increased with temperature and arrives at 3.36 x 10−7mol/cm2s at 900C for a membrane with thickness of 1.00mm.
