A study was made of the diffusion of H, in high-purity zone-melted material, by using an electrochemical technique. The H was introduced into the Fe membrane by means of cathodic charging. The H was oxidized anodically at the exit side, and measurements of the anodic current yielded permeation data. When these were combined with time-lag data, the H diffusion coefficients could be calculated. At 24C, the diffusivity was equal to 8 x 10-5cm2/s.
