The diffusivity of Sn in α-type material was determined by using surface segregation and 113Sn tracer techniques. The latter results could described by:

D (m2/s) = 6.1 x 100 exp[-316400/RT]

The results showed that very good agreement could be obtained by using the independent measurement techniques. The surface segregation technique was some 30 times faster.
