The residual activity technique was used to study the self-diffusion of 59Fe in Fe-Mo alloys which also contained 0.005C, 0.02Mn, 0.03Si and 0.008wt%P/S (table 123). The data for the various compositions could be described by:
0.54wt%: D (cm2/s) = 4.600 x 103 exp[-75.4(kcal/mol)/RT]
1.06wt%: D (cm2/s) = 1.100 x 105 exp[-82.5(kcal/mol)/RT]
1.50wt%: D (cm2/s) = 4.100 x 104 exp[-80.3(kcal/mol)/RT]
2.50wt%: D (cm2/s) = 2.700 x 103 exp[-80.3(kcal/mol)/RT]
The results indicated an effect of magnetic ordering upon the diffusion of Fe.
