The diffusion of 99Mo in amorphous alloys was measured by using a serial sectioning method, combined with Ar+ ion beam sputtering, at 548 to 648K (table 128). It was found that the diffusion was controlled by 2 diffusion mechanisms, and that the faster one was sensitive to thermal pre-treatments. It was concluded that the slower diffusion mechanism involved volume diffusion in the remainder of the amorphous phase. The faster one was attributed to diffusion in the interface between the crystallites and the remainder of the amorphous phase.
